We’re proud to announce that our very own Gerry Tucker, CFO of Bango, has been nominated in the category of Financial Director of the Year at the Grant Thornton Quoted Company Awards, due to be announced on 29th January 2014 at London’s Natural History Museum.
Gerry joined the team in November 2012, an exciting time in Bango’s development as we forge ahead with expanding our key partners, including Facebook, BlackBerry and Google Play, and their connections with mobile network operators across the globe.
Gerry is an experienced finance leader and Chartered Accountant. He has considerable experience in growth businesses, mergers and acquisitions, finance regulation and financial modeling. Further, Gerry’s expertise has been pivotal in navigating the complex regulatory and tax implications as Bango’s business develops in high-growth developing world markets.
The Grant Thornton Quoted Company Awards will be celebrating their tenth anniversary of recognizing the achievements of the top-performing listed companies, individuals and fund managers that are shaping the future of the fast-growth business sector. The events focus on listed companies quoted below the FTSE 350 through to AIM and ISDX as well as the entrepreneurs, management teams, advisers and investors that drive their success forward.
Other awards won by Bango in 2013 include the ‘Mobile Payments and Commerce’ category at the Mobile Merit Awards 2013 in September 2013, and ‘Best Payments Service Provider’ at the Mobile Entertainment Awards in November 2013. Bango was also delighted to be placed in the 2013 FinTech50 watchlist in March 2013.
